Lip Blushing

In the past, I have consistently worn lipstick of all colors! From bold to natural and everything in between. I have known plenty of close friends and family to get permanent eyeliner and eyebrows, but have never taken the dive into permanent makeup myself. I have never even had a tattoo.

Until now.

The more I looked into it, the more I realized that it was actually right up my alley! I visited Krista (@theglamskinrn) for the first time in September, and she immediately made me feel so welcome and comfortable. She is incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Lip blushing was fairly new to me and she was sure to fully answer any questions I had in a way that helped me better understand what to expect both throughout the appointment and during the weeks following. One thing that especially stood out to me was how precise and detail oriented she was throughout the procedure.

What is lip blushing?

Lip blushing is a form of semi permanent makeup that enhances color, improves shape, and makes lips appear 30% fuller. It is essentially a lip tattoo.

How long does it last?

Lip blushing can last 5 or more years, and you always have the option to schedule a touch up appointment if you would like more color.

How long does it take?

The appointment: The appointment itself can take a couple hours.

To heal: I felt that my lips healed fairly quickly. I had read online that scabbing could occur and I did not experience anything of that nature. A couple days after the original appointment, my lips felt as though they were chapped. However, you are supposed to keep Aquaphor (or another balm Krista gave me) on them as much as possible, so the dried out feeling that you have is not necessarily noticeable to others. The chapped feeling only lasts a a couple days. Your lip’s skin regenerates itself every 27 days, and the color will vary in the weeks following your appointment.

Does it hurt?

Krista gave me a dental block which is a numbing injection into your gums, so I did not feel a thing! Your lips do swell a good amount after which can look painful, but it really was not a painful experience – and I have an extremely low tolerance for pain!

How much does it cost?
